Report: Attacker who Bukayo Saka has called 'class' is 'getting closer' to joining Arsenal, talks 'advanced'

One of Mikel Arteta’s top targets could be heading to the Emirates Stadium this summer, with a deal for the attacker getting closer.

Andrea Berta is the man tasked with transforming Arsenal’s attacking options this summer following last season’s collapse in their pursuit of the Premier League title.

The Gunners appear to be on the hunt for both a striker and a winger, with Benjamin Sesko and Viktor Gyokeres among their key targets.

Rodrygo Goes is one of the options the North Londoners are looking at for the wide roles, but now, it appears a deal for another winger is getting close.

Eberechi Eze closing in on Arsenal move

Eberechi Eze is ‘getting closer’ to signing for Arsenal, and talks are currently well advanced for the attacker, as per L’Equipe.

In recent hours, the Gunners have made further moves to sign the attacker and now the player could make his long-awaited return to North London.

Eze claims his dream was to play for Arsenal when he was a child, and being released by the Gunners was a tough moment for him.

But now, his discussions with the North London club are believed to be ‘well advanced’ and they are working to convince him to join.

Arsenal must now decide whether or not to activate Eze’s £60 million release clause, which Crystal Palace are continuing to stand firm over.

Mikel Arteta’s team could have a clear run, as TBR Football understands that Tottenham have cooled their Eze interest.

When Bukayo Saka hailed Eberechi Eze

Ahead of last summer’s Euro 2024 clash against Slovakia, Bukayo Saka was full of praise for Eze and was so impressed by his ability in England training.

The Arsenal forward admitted that the forward was ‘class’ in training and had been the player under the radar who had surprised him so much.

Saka told TalkSPORT: “In training, I would say probably Ebs, you know – Ebere Eze. He has been class in training. He has impressed me the most, I would say.”

Having Saka and Eze as their wing pairing could be so exciting for Arsenal and would make them a force to be reckoned with in the Premier League next season.

The 23-year-old scored 12 goals and got 14 assists last term, meanwhile, Eze managed to outscore him with 14 goals in total and 11 assists.
