Arsenal travel to Asia for a pre-season tour later this month, facing AC Milan, Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur.
The Gunners visit Singapore and Hong Kong during their tour, before returning ahead of the start of the new Premier League season midway through August.
Mikel Arteta has overseen second-placed finishes in each of the past three Premier League seasons, and the Spaniard will be desperate to go one better next time around.
On Tuesday the North London outfit completed their first signing of the summer transfer window, with goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga joining from fierce rivals Chelsea.
Now, it appears that Arsenal are in talks to add a new defender to Arteta’s squad.
According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, the London giants are set for more talks about a potential move for Valencia central defender Cristhian Mosquera.

The Italian claims that the Gunners’ initial offer of £14 million for the defender was rejected by the La Liga side, although they have already agreed personal terms with the player himself.
The 21-year-old centre-back is a product of Valencia’s youth system and has now played 90 times for the SPanish side across all competitions.
Romano claims that the Spain under-21 international is keen on the idea of a move to The Emirates, despite his current side offering him a new deal.
Mosquera’s current contract with the La Liga side is set to run until the end of next season, and his current employers are keen to keep hold of him beyond that date.
The defender’s versatility could appeal to Arteta, as he is capable of playing at right-back as well as in hi natural position in the centre of the back line.
