Arsenal have been given a significant boost following reports that highly rated Valencia defender Cristhian Mosquera is pushing for a move to North London, despite being offered a new and improved contract by his current club.
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the 20-year-old has made it clear that he wants to join Arsenal, having already agreed personal terms with the Gunners. However, the club’s initial bid was rejected by Valencia, who are still trying to convince the Spain U21 international to stay by offering him a new deal that would make him one of the highest earners in the squad.

Mosquera has just one year left on his current contract, and negotiations over an extension have so far stalled. This has placed Valencia under increasing pressure to sell this summer or risk losing the player for free in 2026.

Spanish outlet Cadena SER reports that Valencia have submitted a fresh proposal to Mosquera, including a significant salary increase. Despite that, Romano insists the player’s priority remains a move to the Emirates and that he is eager to be part of Mikel Arteta’s long-term project.

Arsenal insider Hand of Arsenal revealed on X that the Gunners are preparing a second offer in the region of €15 million plus potential add-ons, while Valencia are holding out for a fee closer to €20 million. Negotiations between the two clubs are ongoing.
RB Leipzig have also expressed interest in the talented centre-back, but Arsenal are currently in pole position, with Mosquera reportedly favouring a move to the Emirates Stadium.
While Valencia are making a late push to retain their rising star, the combination of contract uncertainty and the player’s strong desire to join Arsenal may force the Spanish club to reconsider their stance in the coming days.
