Anthony Gordon perfectly describes Newcastle United's new kit after Adidas launch

Newcastle United have launched their new Adidas third kit, and it has got the seal of approval from Anthony Gordon.

The Newcastle United winger was part of the Adidas promo video that was unveiled on Monday evening, which also starred the likes of Alexander Isak, Bruno Guimaraes, Tino Asprilla and Jonas Gutierrez. It also featured Sam Fender, who provided the narration with Local Hero playing in the background.

There was a nod to former Toon manager Steve Bruce too, with Dan Burn asking ‘how’s the bacon’ to end the advert.

Newcastle United’s new third kit is available to buy now, with fans having the opportunity to purchase the shirt that is inspired by the 1997/98 jersey worn by Kenny Dalglish’s team.

Anthony Gordon shares his feelings on Newcastle United’s new Adidas third kit

Supporters really love Newcastle United’s third kit for the 2025/26 season, and that feeling is shared by Anthony Gordon.

In a video shared by the club on X, the 24-year-old gave his thoughts on Adidas’ latest Toon offering.

“It’s phenomenal,” he said.

“I love it. It’s retro. It’s very much my style. I feel like that suits me.”

When Newcastle United will wear new third kit for the first time

Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United team have already played in the new home kit for next season. The black and white stripes made their debut in the final game of the 2024/25 season, with the Magpies losing 1-0 to Everton.

As for the new third kit, the club have announced when it will get its first run out. That will be on 19th July when Newcastle United face Celtic in a friendly at Celtic Park. Brendan Rodgers’ team also wear Adidas, with the game between the sides officially dubbed the Adidas Trophy.

The Newcastle United players donning their new kit will be backed by a very large travelling support. After selling out their initial allocation of 7,200 tickets, there could now be as many as 10,000 Toon fans inside Celtic Park after the club’s allocation was increased.

It is currently the Magpies’ first pre-season friendly of the summer, with Howe’s players due back at the training ground on 7th July.
