Darwin Nunez has been the talk of the town since the start of the 2024-25 season, with his future constantly up in the air.
The Reds turned down a bid worth around £59million for the Uruguay international during the January transfer window, but they now seem to be looking to sell him on after his poor performances.
At the moment, Napoli are the team leading the chase for Nunez’s signature, with communications between both clubs already open.
Nothing is set in stone yet regarding his future, but with the way most of the reports have made it seem, he’s more out than in at the moment.

That is, especially after what a football agent said about Nunez’s future on 24 June.
Darwin Nunez’s wife now wants to leave Liverpool
As mentioned, several clubs have shown an interest in Nunez over the last season or so.
However, it’s Napoli who seem to be the most keen, with Antonio Conte making him his priority target.
And, after what football agent Bruno Satin said about Nunez’s wife, it feels like his future has been decided for some time now.

“Nunez? Strong, physically, he’s an animal, but he’s also fast. In Serie A, someone like him makes the difference,” he said to Kiss Kiss Napoli.
“I knew he wasn’t feeling well at Liverpool, and his wife also wanted to leave.
I saw him in the national team in November [and] he works hard for the team, he’s a top player.
“We need to understand how to make him coexist with Lukaku, but there will be many commitments, and whoever is better will play.”

Liverpool need to source their replacement for Darwin Nunez as soon as possible
Nunez may not have been the best player among Arne Slot’s ranks last season, but he still played a part in Liverpool’s successes.
The striker contributed to 14 goals across all competitions, and while this isn’t close to the returns that Cody Gakpo or Luis Diaz achieved, it’s still a part of the Reds’ success.

Cody Gakpo 49 18 7
Luis Diaz 50 17 8
The 2024-25 seasons of Darwin Nunez, Cody Gakpo and Luis Diaz in numbers.
Gakpo, Diaz, Nunez and Federico Chiesa have all been linked with moves away this summer, and although one or two will stay, the fact that two of them could leave means that Liverpool will be in a bit of a pickle.
With Mohamed Salah now 33 years old, it’s unclear how much longer he’ll be able to continue carrying Liverpool’s attack on his back.
The attacker had a record-breaking season last term, but if he sustains a long-term injury, it could hinder his goal-scoring ability massively.
With this in mind, if Liverpool don’t source themselves a new attacker soon, they could find themselves in a spot of bother sooner than they’d think.
