Manchester United transfer could spell major trouble as Marcus Rashford 'swap' deal speaks…

Davide Frattesi of Italy looks on

Inter Milan midfielder Davide Frattesi has been linked with a move to Manchester United

Manchester are less than a week away from starting their pre-season as they gear up for a huge season under .

The Reds endured a disastrous 2024/25 campaign after finishing 15th in the Premier League with a minus 10 goal difference. So far, the club have made just one summer signing as they .

Some frustration is growing among United's fanbase with no sales and only one new face through the door. There is still plenty of time, though, for the Reds to sign players before their first competitive fixture of 25/26. United kick off at home to Arsenal on August 17.

Below are some of the latest stories surrounding United this summer as well as a view on each one...

Frattesi 'approach'

United have reportedly made an approach to Inter Milan over a potential deal for defensive midfielder Davide Frattesi.

claim that United have contacted Inter to gain an understanding of the conditions of a possible deal. The 25-year-old is reportedly taking his time to work out if he wants to leave Inter. The Nerazzuri themselves are said to be prepared to let him go.

It is claimed that Inter's asking price has dropped from €50million (£43m) to around €35m (£30m) with Tottenham Hotspur, Atletico Madrid and Roma also reportedly interested.

Isaac Seelochan of The Manchester Evening News says: "The signing of Frattesi would spell trouble for Casemiro's future at Old Trafford. With Manuel Ugarte also at the club, it's unlikely the Brazilian will stay."

Rashford 'move'

The Reds have reportedly held discussions with Aston Villa over a potential swap deal involving Ollie Watkins as Marcus Rashford's loan spell came to an end.

The 29-year-old was reportedly available for transfer in January, even being offered to Arsenal. And claim that United engaged in talks with Villa about signing Watkins at the end of the season.

United are now said to have made a separate enquiry unrelated to Rashford, .

"I sense snobbery in some quarters over the potential signing of Watkins, but with no European football, the Reds need to be realistic over who they can sign, and Watkins would be a good addition."
