Jadon Sancho wage breakthrough as Juventus schedule new talks for £25m Man United deal

Manchester United have accepted that they will have to make a huge loss on Jadon Sancho this summer.

There was huge excitement around Old Trafford when Jadon Sancho was signed for £73m back in 2021, but the English winger massively failed to live up to expectations.

Ineos thought they had finally seen the last of Sancho when a loan deal was agreed last summer, but Chelsea paid £5m to reject Sancho after he refused to lower his wages.

Now, Manchester United are trying to find new buyers and interest is arriving mostly from Italy.

Napoli have shown interest in Sancho, and reports from Italy also claim Juventus want Sancho and have even offered potential player swaps.

Juventus schedule new Jadon Sancho talks after wage breakthrough

United are demanding £25m for Sancho this summer – the same fee offered to Chelsea in the buy clause.

So far, it is not the fee that has been an issue in negotiations though, but rather Sancho’s £325,000 per week wages.

According to Italian outlet IlBiancoNero, more talks between Sancho and Juventus are expected in the coming hours.

The Italian club will hope to reach an agreement with the 25-year-old, and it seems Sancho is more open to making sacrifices around his salary.

According to Eurosport, Sancho is now ready to accept a pay cut to leave United this summer, boosting the chances of Juventus striking a deal.

Chelsea and Napoli both walked away from a deal because of Sancho’s wage demands, while Ineos will be desperate to get him off the books at Old Trafford as one of the club’s top earners.

Sancho went out with a whimper at United, missing a penalty in the Community Shield in his final appearance for the club.

He will not be missed at Old Trafford, and frankly, Ineos have already replaced him before he has even left.

The £62.5m deal for Matheus Cunha at the start of the summer window bolsters United’s attack heading into 2025/26. The Brazilian will expect to play as one of the No.10s in Amorim’s 3-4-2-1 system.

If a Sancho deal is agreed with Juventus, it could also help United push through a deal for Bryan Mbeumo.

United are preparing an improved offer for Mbeumo after having two bids rejected by Brentford. The 25-year-old will add even more firepower to Amorim’s side.
