Just in: Rangers enter talks to sign 'monster' Wolves star

Rangers are in talks to land Wolverhampton Wanderers' forgotten star Nasser Djiga on loan, according to reports - with new boss Russell Martin keen on bolstering his squad with the latest flurry of Premier League signings.

The Champions League outfit have already signed Max Aarons on loan from Bournemouth for the season, with the 25-year-old being a superb coup for the club having played for Valencia last season, though he's lost his way in some respects after joining the Cherries from Norwich City in 2023. Meanwhile, a further loan deal is imminent in the form of another Bournemouth man, Joe Rothwell, who excelled under Martin at Southampton - and a permanent deal potentially bringing Conor Coady to the club is also being administered by the Light Blues.

But despite those potential incomings, an effort to further bolster their ranks is being made. The report by Express and Star journalist Liam Keen states that Djiga is in talks to join Rangers on loan, after failing to break into the Wolves team upon his move on January deadline day.

Just five appearances in the Premier League and an extra in the FA Cup saw him fail to make his way into Vitor Pereira's squad, with his one Premier League start seeing him taken off at half-time - and the £10million acquisition was often an unused substitute under the Portuguese boss.

However, the 'monster' defender will get the chance to taste regular British football at Ibrox with recently-appointed gaffer Martin keen to add him to their squad alongside former Wolves favourite Coady, who is also in talks for a move north of the border to end his Leicester City stint.
