Sophie Cunningham was twerking after Fever won Commissioner’s Cup

Sophie Cunningham helped the Indiana Fever win the WNBA Commissioner’s Cup on Tuesday night with a strong performance off the bench, and fans loved one of the ways she celebrated.

The Fever beat the Minnesota Lynx 74-59 at Target Center in Minneapolis, Minn., to win the Commissioner’s Cup, which is the WNBA’s in-season tournament. Indiana was a huge underdog in the game, in large part because Caitlin Clark was sidelined with a groin injury.

Cunningham was one of the players who stepped up in Clark’s absence, contributing 13 points and 7 rebounds in 26 minutes off the bench.

After the game, Fever players shared some photos and videos from their locker room celebration. At one point, Cunningham twerked during an Instagram Live session.

Be aware that the song playing in the video contains cursing:

Cunningham’s popularity has soared over the last month. Fever fans loved the way she defended Clark by dragging an opposing player to the floor in a recent game. Cunningham has also embraced the villain role and was even called out by an NFL player this week over what she said about the WNBA expanding to Detroit.

The Fever improved to 8-8 with their win and showed they can compete even without Clark. That was reason enough to celebrate.
