Manchester United hold buy-back clauses on a number of talents, but look set to snub the chance to bring one player back to Old Trafford.
Manchester United may have struggled to sell first-team players in recent years, but young players have offered a small stream of income.
The likes of Zidane Iqbal, Charlie Savage and Willy Kambwala have been sold in recent times, while Ethan Williams is now attracting European interest.
One sale saw United rake in £7.7million for Matej Kovar, allowing the Czech stopper to join German side Bayer Leverkusen.
United placed a buy-back clause into Kovar’s move and even added a first option on the goalkeeper, leaving the door open to a potential return.
Kovar is now up for sale, having failed to nail down a first-team role at Bayer Leverkusen, with Erik ten Hag poised to sell him for the second time.

Matej Kovar nearing PSV Eindhoven transfer
Ten Hag sold Kovar as United boss in 2023 and is now ready to repeat the trick.
Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg claims that PSV Eindhoven are now in talks to sign Kovar in a permanent move.
More United News
Leverkusen recently snapped up Mark Flekken from Brentford, meaning Kovar dropped to third choice in the pecking order.
What looked to be an exciting move in 2023 just hasn’t worked out, especially as Kovar committed a significant error in the Champions League last season.
PSV were focusing on signing Daniel Peretz from Bayern Munich, but a loan-to-buy deal has stalled.
The Eredivisie champions are now pushing to land Kovar, with United seemingly set to snub the chance to activate those buy-back and first-option clauses.
The move will see Kovar play in the Champions League again this season, though he will be looking for much better fortunes.
PSV have sent Tyrell Malacia back to United, but will hope to secure Kovar’s signature and hand him a fresh start in the Netherlands.

Manchester United’s own goalkeeping search to ramp up
United seemingly won’t bring Kovar back to Old Trafford, but will be studying potential goalkeeping additions.
Altay Bayindir is expected to leave United this summer, two years since joining as competition for Andre Onana.
The Turkish stopper has barely featured for United and may seek first-team opportunities elsewhere.
Backup goalkeepers may be the focus for now, though Onana’s position as first-choice goalkeeper is far from secure.
Tom Heaton is staying at Old Trafford, but United are likely to search for new goalkeepers over the course of the summer window.
