Manchester United’s biggest stars are preparing for the 2025/26 season following a turbulent campaign.
Ruben Amorim is desperate to improve results at Manchester United after losing the Europa League final and finishing 15th in the Premier League. It marked another season where the Red Devils fell short of their expectations.
Ineos don’t want a repeat of that, which explains why United are making moves in the transfer market to ensure that doesn’t happen. Otherwise, serious questions will be asked of Amorim, who is assembling a new squad for future success.
United’s first team must take responsibility for their performances, especially the players who will remain at Old Trafford beyond this summer. Many of them have spent the break working hard in the gym while away on holiday, including Marcus Rashford and Tyrell Malacia, who spent last season out on loan.
Amorim will start welcoming back United players to training next week before they take on Leeds in Stockholm. After the first fixture of the summer, the Red Devils will travel to the US for the pre-season tour, which will end with a friendly against Fiorentina at Old Trafford a week before the Premier League campaign begins.

Harry Maguire impressed by Rasmus Hojlund
The 2024/25 season ended in bitter disappointment for United.
From the heartbreak of losing to Tottenham Hotspur in the Europa League final to the reality of finishing in the bottom half of the Premier League table, it must get better next term. No excuses will be tolerated as fans have been dealt with ticket price increases.
A week before United get back to training, Harry Maguire has shared some footage of Rasmus Hojlund warming up with the ball.

There is no denying that Hojlund struggled for form last season, scoring just 10 goals in 52 matches, and he will be expected to improve on that if he stays at the club.
Maguire captioned the post ‘looking sharp’ which suggests he is impressed by what he has seen from Hojlund ahead of the new season.
United fans, even though pessimistic about Hojlund’s chances, will hope that Maguire is right and we get to see a new version of the Danish striker.
Hojlund will be eager to prove his worth to Amorim during pre-season. It could be his last chance to do so, with United planning to sign a new striker before deadline day.
Hojlund replacement talk heats up
United are tipped to make a move for Ollie Watkins.
Watkins would become a target if United sold Hojlund this summer.
The 29-year-old has proven himself to be a goalscorer in the Premier League and that is what Amorim needs next season.
It remains to be seen if Watkins has a future at Villa Park after being overlooked for Rashford by Unai Emery at times last term.’
