Manchester United’s attacking reshuffle under Ruben Amorim continues to move at full pace, with fresh faces expected to arrive before the Premier League kicks off next month.
While attention remains on incoming targets such as Bryan Mbeumo, the club also needs to trim the wage bill and create space in a bloated squad.
A number of players are up for sale, with Jadon Sancho, Marcus Rashford, and Alejandro Garnacho among the high-profile names linked with permanent exits this summer.

However, despite strong interest from abroad, United are encountering frustrating delays in getting certain deals over the line — especially when it comes to one South American winger.
Antony’s proposed move to Real Betis has become increasingly complicated, with the Spanish club struggling to meet both United’s terms and the player’s wage demands.
According to ABC Sevilla via Sport Witness, Betis have made it clear they want to sign Antony permanently and the player himself has expressed a desire to return to La Liga, having enjoyed a short spell there earlier in his career.
A framework has reportedly been put in place involving a loan deal with a mandatory purchase option in 2026 for Antony, including a system of shared player rights that would gradually increase Betis’ ownership based on appearances and performance.
However, the deal remains stuck due to several financial hurdles.
While Antony is said to be fully on board with the move, his high salary remains a major obstacle, with Betis requiring assistance from United or a significant wage reduction from the player in order to make the transfer viable within La Liga’s financial regulations.

Talks between the two clubs have taken place, with Betis representatives travelling to London three weeks ago, but little progress has been made since.
Real Betis sporting director Manu Fajardo has stated that the La Liga club intend to push for a reunion—if Manchester United are open to agreeing a deal.
The deal structure — including shared ownership and staged payments — has added further complexity, with both clubs yet to agree on the financial specifics of the arrangement.
Sources suggest it could take another three weeks before a breakthrough is made, with Betis seemingly content to drag negotiations out while exploring various creative solutions to sign the winger.
United, however, may need to take a firmer stance if they want this deal — and Antony’s chapter at Old Trafford — to finally come to an end.
