West Ham are reportedly keen on securing the services of Liverpool defender Joe Gomez in the transfer window.
Dr Rajpal Brar, an injury expert, has assessed his fitness record as he was restricted to just nine Premier League appearances last season.
Gomez, 28, played just four Champions League games too, missing the majority of the season with a hamstring injury.

As he suffered two hamstring injuries last season, the Hammers may want to take a closer look at those, according to Dr Brar.

Speaking exclusively with West Ham Zone, Dr Brar, a specialist in Physical Therapy and a Sports Scientist, said: “West Ham may take a closer look at his history of hamstring injuries, particularly with him suffering two of them last season.
“Nine league games all season is obviously not ideal, but if the club are satisfied with how he recovered and other fitness reports, they would go ahead.
“In 2023/24, he played over 30 league games, so that’s something to consider too.”

West Ham should sign Gomez despite his injuries last season
Despite recent injuries, Gomez would be a stellar signing for West Ham due to his versatility, Premier League pedigree and defensive nous.
The 28-year-old, with nearly 150 Premier League appearances and 15 England caps, can seamlessly play centre-back, right-back or even left-back, offering tactical flexibility for Potter’s system.
His pass completion and ability to read the game align with the Hammers’ need for a ball-playing defender.
The Liverpool defender’s experience in high-stakes matches, including his side’s 2019 Champions League triumph, brings leadership to a transitioning squad.
While injuries limited him to nine league appearances last season, his recovery trajectory and prior durability suggest he can regain form.
