Mohammed Kudus’ exit will leave a hole in the West Ham attack.

Graham Potter will be losing his hair by the day at the lack of transfer activity at the London Stadium, with most of the focus on players leaving West Ham this summer.

One of those heavily linked with an exit has been Kudus, who has attracted strong interest from Tottenham ahead of next season.

An agreement is yet to be reached for the Ghanaian international, but it appears as though it could just be a matter of time.

West Ham must pursue James McAtee signing

With the Irons still in negotiations with Tottenham over the transfer of Kudus, Chelsea also remain in the race.

Kudus has an £85million release clause, and neither Tottenham nor Chelsea seem willing to pay it, though it seems like only a matter of time until the Hammers receive an offer they are satisfied with.

Of course, his exit would leave the Hammers in need of a replacement, and they should look no further than James McAtee, who was previously linked with a move to the London Stadium.

The City midfielder is available for around £25m this summer, and for a player of his quality, it would be a no-brainer for the Irons to pursue a deal for the Englishman, who could potentially replicate Kudus’ influence at the London Stadium.

Not only would it be a bargain at the reported price, but it would then leave West Ham with plenty of funds remaining to strengthen other areas of the squad.

Potter is being set up to fail at West Ham

Potter already has his critics after such a poor end to last season, and those concerns will only grow as long as the performances fail to improve.

However, unless the Irons recruit well this summer, improvement will be a distant fantasy, amplifying the need for their transfer activity to be accelerated in the coming weeks.
