Joe Rothwell spent last season on loan at Elland Road with Leeds United.
With a Premier League season to attend to, it is evident that the Whites have a lot of work to do if they are to have any chance of surviving in the top flight.
Following the signing of Sebastian Bornauw, Leeds have now made three new additions to their squad, with several more expected in the coming weeks.
After missing out on the signing of Habib Diarra to Sunderland, and now Noah Sadiki, signing a new midfielder will be a priority, with the 49ers achieving that away from Elland Road.

Rangers confirm Rothwell arrival
Rothwell played a crucial role in Leeds United’s promotion from the Championship last season, and it was believed that the Whites would pursue a deal to sign him permanently this summer.

However, the likelihood of that happening quickly died down, with it since confirmed that Rothwell has signed for Rangers, the other team owned by the 49ers.

Rothwell’s Championship record for Leeds
Upon signing for the club, Rothwell spoke in an interview via the Gers’ social media channels, and the 30-year-old spoke rather highly of his time at Elland Road.
Rothwell said, “It was brilliant [at Leeds]. The season before was a bit tricky for me, so I managed to go there last year and play a lot of games and contributed a lot.
“So for me, personally, it was brilliant. I can’t speak highly enough of that club. I loved my time there.”
Leeds are stumbling this summer
Jaka Bijol was certainly a statement signing, though the additions of Lukas Nmecha and Bornauw are floor raisers at best.
If Leeds are to have any real chance at avoiding the drop, they need to secure the arrivals of players who can take this team to the next level.
Of course, with the season still some time away yet, Leeds will not be worried, though that could change if movement doesn’t accelerate in the coming weeks.
Signing a new striker will be a priority for Daniel Farke, who will be looking to bolster his squad wherever and whenever possible this summer.
