Aston Villa star Morgan Rogers was full of support for England team-mate Trent Alexander-Arnold after the defender provided an assist in Real Madrid's Club World Cup win over Juventus.

England international Alexander-Arnold, who joined the La Liga outfit from Liverpool last month, set up Gonzalo Garcia to score the only goal of the game nine minutes into the second half to set up a quarter-final tie with Borussia Dortmund.

Midfielder Rogers was present at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami to watch fellow England internationals Jude Bellingham and Alexander-Arnold against the Serie A side.

And after the game, Rogers liked and commented on Alexander-Arnold's post celebrating Madrid's advancement to the last eight of the Club World Cup.

Like Alexander-Arnold, Rogers could be set for a move this summer as several Premier League clubs - including Arsenal and Chelsea - are monitoring the 22-year-old.

However, the Birmingham Mail understands that it would take a significant offer to change Villa's current not for sale stance on Rogers, who arrived from Middlesbrough in January 2024.

Rogers is set to report back to Villa for pre-season training with the rest of his teammates later this month.

Unai Emery's side, who just missed out on Champions League qualification last season, begin the campaign with games against Newcastle, Brentford and Crystal Palace.

Rogers has five years remaining on his current deal at Villa Park.
