Fabrizio Romano reports that Arsenal have started discussing the conditions of a summer deal to sign Eberechi Eze with Crystal Palace, as well as on the player’s side.
Romano adds that after direct contact between the Gunners and Eze over the weekend, the player has opened the door to an Arsenal move in a clear way. He’s open to joining Arsenal’s project, and he’s attracted by the opportunity.
The journalist reports that Arsenal’s interest in Eze is concrete, and the Gunners are still working on the move.

The Beautiful Game podcast report that Mikel Arteta spoke with Declan Rice about Eze to get an understanding of how he’d fit into the squad, and Rice gave a glowing endorsement of his England teammate.
The same source reports that Eze would prefer a move to Arsenal over Tottenham Hotspur, who appear to have given up and moved on to West Ham United’s Mohammed Kudus.
Following Arteta’s talks with Rice, football insider Hand of Arsenal reports that the Arsenal boss was personally part of the weekend conversations with Eze. But there’s no word of an agreement on personal terms yet.

David Ornstein confirmed this week that Eze ranks highly among Arsenal’s summer options, with the Gunners looking to add a versatile attacker to the squad. Ornstein added that no other club is as interested as the Gunners at this stage.
Though the journalist added that Arsenal seem unwilling to meet Eze’s release clause, and it’s unclear if a sale might be needed to facilitate a move.
Evidently, this deal is still in the early stages, and a successful conclusion may end up being dependent on Arsenal’s other business. But the interest is genuine and ongoing.
