Bucks reportedly denied Lillard request to rehab with his family

Milwaukee Bucks reportedly denied Damian Lillard’s request to rehab closer to his family during his Achilles injury recovery.

According to NBA insider Chris Haynes, people within the Milwaukee Bucks organization did not approve Damian Lillard request to return home to Portland to be with his kids while rehabbing his Achilles injury.

The Bucks recently waived Lillard and stretched the remaining $113 million on his contract to clear cap space.

This strategic maneuver allowed them to acquire center Myles Turner from the Indiana Pacers, who averaged an impressive 15.6 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 2.0 blocks per game last season.

Lillard, meanwhile, posted strong numbers during his final season with Milwaukee, averaging 24.9 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 7.1 assists while shooting 44.8% from the field and 37.6% from three.

The pads-and-curtains move sparked reported tension in the locker room, with franchise cornerstone Giannis Antetokounmpo reportedly unhappy about Lillard’s departure.
