**While the rumours around Alexander Isak and Liverpool persist, he isn't the only Newcastle United player being linked with a move to Anfield.**
Last summer, it was reported that a deal for Anthony Gordon to return to Merseyside was almost done before Newcastle pulled the plug and pivoted to selling Yankuba Minteh and Elliot Anderson to plug a £70 million gap in their figures for PSR reporting purposes.
That rumour followed Gordon to the European Championships with England, and Gareth Southgate felt that the winger was too distracted and barely featured for the Three Lions despite loud pleas from fans and pundits alike to give him a chance.
Anthony Gordon signed a new contract at Newcastle in October last year, signalling his intent to stay at the club, but here we are, a few months later, and there's still talk about him leaving with Liverpool and Arsenal sniffing around.

Newcastle will not be selling any of their big players this summer
------------------------------------------------------------------
Newcastle have to want or need to sell any of their big stars this summer, and that position has been made clear many times, but it doesn't stop the rumours.
Thankfully, other clubs are making it a bit easier for Newcastle to stand by their decision, and it was feared that if Liverpool sold Luis Diaz this summer, they'd move for Gordon, but that doesn't look likely to happen now.
As reported by Fabrizio Romano on X today, the Reds have rejected an offer from Bayern Munich for Diaz and have no desire to negotiate.
Luis Diaz looks set to remain at Anfield
----------------------------------------
However, Romano does say there's still no agreement on a new deal between Diaz and Liverpool.
> "🚨🇨🇴 Liverpool have rejected approach from FC Bayern for Luis Díaz after a call made by director Max Eberl."Liverpool insist on intention to keep Luis Díaz with no plans to negotiate, Bayern have been informed.
>
> "There’s still no agreement close over new deal for Díaz at #LFC."
The Colombian's current deal doesn't expire until 2027, however, so his position at the club isn't under immediate threat, which should rule Liverpool out of making a move for Gordon.
