Liverpool star’s agent looking to facilitate summer exit, pushing for Barcelona move

Luis Diaz’s agent is pushing for a move to join Barcelona as Liverpool’s rather strong stance on the player’s future could cause complications.

According to Mundo Deportivo via Sport Witness, Luis Diaz is still a player of interest to Barcelona and his agent is pushing to get a deal done. Liverpool’s strong stance on the Colombian’s future could cause tensions between the player and the club, as the attacker is not in a happy mood.

Luis Diaz’s future could become a bigger topic of discussion in the transfer market than it already is. The Colombian played a pivotal role in Arne Slot’s team winning the Premier League last season, which has encouraged the Dutch manager to keep hold of him despite the signing of Florian Wirtz.

The Colombian is open to staying if there’s a good enough contract presented by the club, however, a new deal has not been forthcoming. The expectations with that are low at the moment, which may see the player consider a departure.

Liverpool rebuffed an approach from Barcelona in early June, and since then the Catalans were thought to be out of the running. They have since chased Nico Williams and considered the Spaniard over the Colombian as their preferred target. However, the negotiations for the Spanish international have since stalled, which has brought them back into the mix for Diaz.

Liverpool are adamant about keeping hold of the player although there might be a hidden message which could come with a hefty price tag for the 28-year-old winger. Barcelona are still interested as per the report, although the Reds are holding firm on their stance which could force the player into taking matters into his own hands.

Luis Diaz’s agent pushes for Barcelona move

The report stresses the idea that Diaz’s agent has offered his client to Barcelona in a bid to accelerate a move for the Colombian. The inactive nature of negotiations with Williams may have a part to play in this. While Bayern Munich are also keen, Diaz might give a switch to Barcelona the priority if he had the choice.

As per Fabrizio Romano, Liverpool rebuffed an approach from Bayern Munich, which once again signaled their intent. Without a new deal on the table, it’s difficult to see the Reds holding firm on their stance to keep the Colombian, who might push to leave if Barcelona makes their intentions clear about signing him.
