Keeping it cool: Bayern Munich preparing to face off with PSG indoors

When Bayern Munich squares off with Paris Saint-Germain in the Club World Cup quarterfinals, the game will be Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia.

While the home stadium of the Atlanta Falcons has replaced its artificial turf with real grass for the Club World Cup, it will have a different feel for a number of reasons (via @iMiaSanMia):

The Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta is enclosed and cooled to around 20°C during Club World Cup games. Weather conditions should therefore play no role at Saturday’s game between Bayern and PSG, despite the game taking place at midday local time.

For Bayern Munich head coach Vincent Kompany, the indoor game will represent a new experience.

“The weather conditions cost us a lot of energy. I heard there’s air-conditioning in the stadium on Saturday. So it will be a bit different,” said Kompany.

Indoors...air conditioning? A new day truly is upon us for Bayern Munich.
