Travis Kelce Shares Honest Take on Eagles’ Super Bowl Showing

Travis Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs were stunned in the Super Bowl back in February.

The Philadelphia Eagles couldn't close out Kelce, Patrick Mahomes, and the Chiefs the first time around, but they made sure they wouldn't run into the same scenario a couple of seasons later.

"They just had stuff figured out," Kelce recently said on 'Bussin' With the Boys,' regarding the Eagles.

Kelce's words described the game just as everybody saw it.

"I don't know if they had a tick on what was going on or if they just kind of had the rules set in place, but it felt like in the run game and pass game ... They just had stuff figured out," Kelce said, via Yahoo Sports. "Even when we got the right call, it was like we were just a step off or timing off. Pat was under duress, and we just had to try and figure things out on the run."

Not many defenses can figure out how to slow down the MVP-caliber passer Patrick Mahomes. The Eagles' defensive line made a statement from the jump, put their foot on the gas, and didn't take it off until the game was clearly out of reach for Kansas City.

"It was just an uphill battle all [expletive] day."

Mahomes attempted 32 passes in the Super Bowl. He threw for 257 yards, three touchdowns, and two interceptions. Both picks put the Eagles in a prime position to improve the score early on. By now, everybody has seen the Cooper DeJean pick-six countless times. The interception across the middle by Zack Baun was another scenario that put the Eagles right in the red zone.

In addition to his two picks, Mahomes lost the Chiefs an offensive possession with a fumble.

The run game couldn't create much of an impact either. The Chiefs rushed just 11 times, with Mahomes leading the pack with four carries. They totaled just 49 yards throughout the night.

On a personal note, Kelce was quiet, catching four passes for 39 yards and zero touchdowns.

The Eagles dominated the Chiefs 40-22.

While it was a low point for the Chiefs, who have been dominant since the Mahomes-Kelce duo took off. The Chiefs have been a part of five of the last six Super Bowls, representing the AFC. They have won three times, even repeating as champs, defeating Philly the first time around.
