The Washington Commanders announced Wednesday that three training camp sessions in July and August will be open to the public.
The opening day in Ashburn, Virginia, quickly sold out as football-starved fans claimed the available free tickets.
The open dates are scheduled for July 27, July 29 and Aug. 2. Any fan is eligible to claim tickets on the Commanders’ website, though most spots were claimed by Wednesday afternoon.
An additional three training camp sessions on July 28, July 31 and Aug. 4 will be open to select season-ticket holders. The first season-ticket event is reserved for “ultra” members, with the second saved for “business network” members and the final date bookmarked for “friends and family” customers.
An additional practice on Aug. 10 will be open to select members of the military community for a “Salute to Service” day. The Commanders said they would email eligible fans through the “Washington Salute” program.
Rookies are scheduled to report to Washington’s training camp on July 18. Veterans will join them on July 22.
The Commanders open their preseason on the road against the New England Patriots on Aug. 8.
Washington’s NFL regular season begins at home on Sept. 7 against the New York Giants.
