Lakers’ Bronny James Speaks Out About LeBron James Rumors

Bronny James is gearing up for Summer League in the NBA, and this is the first time the young guard has been heard from since the regular season ended. Naturally, he keeps a low profile, but was asked about rumors surrounding his father, LeBron James.

LeBron has been the subject of plenty of rumors regarding his future with the Los Angeles Lakers. The superstar was reported to be accepting his $52.6 million player option, which led to plenty of people speculating that he could be gearing up for a trade to a contender for his presumed final year or two in the NBA.

Further reports indicated that the Lakers organization has not discussed any sort of trade situation for LeBron, and Bronny was asked directly about the rumors surrounding his father.

When Bronny is asked what LeBron plans to do, he simply states that he has no idea.

"Actually, one of my friends called me, talking about what I was going to do cause they seen it. I didn't see it. He called me, and I said 'I have no idea what you are talking about.' There's a lot of stuff going around that I don't really pay attention to," Bronny stated.

Bronny is then asked further if he and LeBron discuss bigger movements in the organization, considering they are teammates. Again, the younger James offers a simple yet coy response.

"We don't really talk about much. When stuff like that does come up, he tells me not to pay attention to it, not to worry about it," Bronny added.

Bronny may know what his father is doing, but it sounds like he is not going to outright state what those plans may or may not be. The young guard is currently gearing up to take the court again for the Lakers.

The full Summer League dates are as follows:

July 10: vs. Mavericks (5 p.m.; ESPN)

July 12: vs. Pelicans (5:30 p.m.; ESPN2)

July 14: vs. Clippers (7:30 p.m.; NBA TV)

July 17: vs. Celtics (6 p.m.; ESPN)

5th game TBD.

Fans will get a chance to see Bronny back in action, giving a detailed look at how the upcoming second-year guard does in the NBA. The hope is that he can evolve and become a better rotational player in the 2025-26 season.

Even if LeBron happens to retire or be traded to a new team, Bronny still has a job to do, and that is with the Lakers.
