The attacker has been linked with a move away after struggling for form this season under Ruben Amorim.

The latter has been linked with a move back to Italy, just two years after United paid £67m to bring him to Old Trafford from Atalanta. He has since made 95 appearances for the Red Devils, scoring 25 goals and providing six assists.

Hojlund told to stay at Man United

The striker has generated serious interest from Serie A champions Napoli, who are looking to find their long-term replacement for Victor Osimhen, who looks set to leave this summer. Liverpool’s Darwin Nunez is also on Napoli’s radar too.

Hojlund’s poor form last season has led to suggestions that Man United want to replace him, with many believing that the 22-year-old is set to leave Old Trafford this summer. However, former Red Devils first team coach Benni McCarthy has urged the Danish international to stay at Old Trafford as he believes he will come good.

McCarthy told ManchesterWorld exclusively via betonlinepromocodes.com: “I think that Rasmus will be alright, I don’t think it’s necessarily just a problem with him. I think the club needs to properly adapt to understanding the principles of how Amorim has to play.

“He’s only young, but he’s so strong, he’s so powerful, but he still needs to develop some skills. The biggest thing he can offer is his speed and getting in behind players. I think we never set up the team to exploit that, and that’s why he looked like he was struggling.”

McCarthy has said that the impetus is on manager Ruben Amorim to ensure that Hojlund has the opportunity to perform. Something that the former South Africa international believes hasn’t happened yet.

He added: “Amorim, now, is using a completely different style of playing, and he needs to make the team a unit that matches Hojlund’s style. But also, the Premier League is the toughest league to adjust to. Not everyone can adapt as quickly as Erling Haaland.

“I think at the moment, United’s players haven’t gotten comfortable with the system or don’t really understand the system that Amorim wants to play. But he’s had two seasons under his belt, and he knows what is needed in England now. If he stays, I’m sure he’ll come good.”

Could Hojlund stay at Man United?

The Danish striker’s future likely lies upon which striker Man United sign in the summer transfer window. If they bring in someone that is more experienced, but not a long-term option, then you would image that Hojlund will stay, learn and improve as a second-choice.

One such name is Ollie Watkins, who, aged 29, won’t be Amorim’s striker solution for the next 10 years, something that Hojlund could be. But the Danish international could play as a backup to Watkins for the next few seasons, coming off the bench, with less pressure on him.

If he develops after that, Hojlund could then emerge as a first-choice calibre striker in the Premier League, something that McCarthy believes he has the ability and potential to achieve.
