MIAMI - Real Madrid advanced to the quarterfinals of the FIFA Club World Cup with a hard-fought 1-0 win over Juventus, courtesy of a second-half header from academy product Gonzalo Garcia. Deputising for Kylian Mbappe, who missed the group stage due to illness, Garcia scored his third goal of the tournament in the 54th minute, converting a pinpoint cross from Trent Alexander-Arnold. Mbappe made his tournament debut as a second-half substitute, receiving a rapturous welcome from the near-capacity crowd at Hard Rock Stadium. While sharp in movement, the French star had limited service and posed little direct threat. Juventus started brightly, with Randal Kolo Muani and Kenan Yildiz testing Real early, but faded under Real’s pressure. Goalkeeper Michele Di Gregorio was outstanding, denying multiple efforts from Bellingham and Valverde, but couldn’t keep out Garcia’s decisive header.
