Walsall sign Bournemouth striker Jonny Suttle on season-long loan

Walsall have announced the signing of Jonny Suttle from Premier League side Bournemouth.

He joins the Midlands club on a season-long loan, having signed a new contract extension with his parent club.

The 19-year-old has been with the Dean Court outfit since the age of 11. A prolific goalscorer at youth level, he gained senior experience on loan at Aldershot Town and later at Farnborough, where he scored 10 goals in 19 appearances.

He stated on the signing: “It went really well at Farnborough, I really enjoyed my time there and it has put me in good stead for this season and the future ahead, but I am really looking forward to my time here.

“I am hard-working. I am probably an old-school number nine where I like to get into physical battles with defenders and just generally put myself about and ultimately score goals at the end of it.”

Manager Mat Sadler added: “He’s come in right at the start of pre-season, which we think is really important because it allows us to understand him a bit more and for him to understand what we want from him.

“He's a well-rounded forward who will add something different to our attacking options that we already have at the football club, and we're pleased to once again have been trusted with the development of another young forward.”
