A Manchester United forward is being targeted by Serie A giants Juventus after the Italian club wrapped up a deal for Jonathan David
Manchester United have a number of players they are looking to offload this summer as Ruben Amorim needs to sell players in order to get more funds for new signings.
The Red Devils have enough in the budget for Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo, with the former signed already and talks ongoing with Brentford for the latter player after two bids were rejected - the second coming in at £55m plus £7.5m in add-ons.
After missing out on European football, United’s budget is more limited. However, there are a number of sales that could take place. The likes of Marcus Rashford, Antony, Tyrell Malacia, Alejandro Garnacho and Jadon Sancho could all move on.
The Red Devils have already pocketed £5m for Sancho, after Chelsea paid a penalty after going back on their agreement to sign the forward on a permanent deal. The permanent switch to Stamford Bridge is believed to have broken down over a disagreement on wages.
Juventus ‘call’ Jadon Sancho’s camp after completing striker deal
Serie A giants Juventus have now reached out to Sancho’s representatives after wrapping up a deal for free agent striker Jonathan David. The 25-year-old left Lille as a free agent and has opted for a move to Italy.
With Juve getting that agreement over the line, they are now looking at Sancho as their next target.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reported: “After Jonathan David deal done, Juventus have called Man United and Jadon Sancho’s camp again this week. Fenerbahçe are out of the race and never been in concrete talks; Juventus made contact to discuss conditions of the deal. More clubs have also reached out.”
Sancho has just one year remaining on his deal at Old Trafford as the Red Devils look to move him on after a disappointing time in Manchester. The winger arrived from Borussia Dortmund for £73m in the summer of 2021 but has failed to live up to expectations.
Man Utd want £25m for Jadon Sancho
In another crucial update from Eurosport Italia, Sancho is willing to accept lower wages to move to Turin and is “pushing for the transfer” amid interest from Napoli also. United begin their pre-season training next week and as things stand, Sancho is still contracted to the club and will be expected to turn up if a move to Italy does not progress in the coming days.
Juventus have reportedly offered United three different players in order to get a deal over the line for Sancho but it remains to seen if the Red Devils are open to such a proposal. The Turin outfit finished fourth in Serie A last term so will be playing Champions League football next season, after they finished just one point above AS Roma.
