The Los Angeles Lakers made one of the biggest splashes of the offseason by landing former Portland Trail Blazers center Deandre Ayton on a two-year deal. The 2018 No. 1 overall pick joins a Lakers core that already features LeBron James and Luka Doncic, giving the team a much-needed boost in size, athleticism, and interior scoring heading into next season.
News of Ayton’s signing has given Lakers fans plenty of reason to feel optimistic. After coming up short in the playoffs and struggling to protect the rim, Los Angeles hopes Ayton can stabilize the paint and take pressure off their superstar duo. Many around the league see the move as a sign that the Lakers are all-in on returning to title contention.

Hours after the news broke, Lakers legend Magic Johnson reacted to the Ayton trade on social media. The five-time NBA champion posted a full, uncropped screenshot of Bleacher Report’s announcement on X, forgetting to trim out his phone’s toolbar.
Johnson added no caption, just the uncropped photo. Lakers fans took note of the photo and, without hesitation, flooded his replies with playful jabs.
“Someone gotta get Magic some damn social media training ð,” one fan wrote.
“you forgot to crop the picture unc,” another fan added.
“this is an all time Magic post right here,” a third fan remarked.
“A+ screenshot,” another fan posted.
“Unc you missed a step,” another fan joked.
“Magic you could’ve at least cropped the screenshot,” another fan advised.
“Straight screenshot? ð¤£ð¤£ð¤£,” said another.
