Arsenal have considered Paris Saint-Germain star Bradley Barcola among a number of options to strengthen at left-wing this summer.

That is according to former Man United and Blackburn chief scout Mick Brown, who remains very well-connected within the game, as he exclusively told Football Insider that the Gunners planned to explore whether the 22-year-old might be available.

However, PSG are unlikely to entertain talks about the France international’s future as he is regarded as a key part of Luis Enrique’s long-term plans.

The France international made 61 appearances across all competitions last season, but is not viewed as a nailed-on starter with Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Desire Doue.

As a result, the Gunners have considered offering him a starting role on the wing as they aim to upgrade on Gabriel Martinellli this summer.

This comes after Brown told Football Insider last month that Arsenal are prepared to accept offers for Martinelli as Arteta eyes an overhaul of his attacking options.

Arsenal plot move for ‘superstar’ Bradley Barcola

Football Insider revealed in January that Arsenal planned to sign a “superstar” winger in the mid-season window but opted to wait until the summer.

Brown, who has a wealth of experience in top-level player recruitment after over a decade at Man United during their most successful period, has insisted that the Gunners are considering a number of options for the role including Barcola.

“Arsenal want to replace Gabriel Martinelli,” he told Football Insider.

“They’ve been looking at a few options for that positions, some big-name players are on their list, and I hear Bradley Barcola is one of those.

“He’s a very talented player, he’s got undoubted quality, but he’s not nailed-on at PSG.

“They’ve got Kvaratskhelia there who was excellent in the Champions League run, then they’ve got Dembele who was on fire all season, and Doue as well is a fantastic talent.

“At Arsenal, they could offer him a guaranteed starting role without the same competition.

“Arsenal have been weighing up whether he would be available and if he would be able to perform consistently in the Premier League.

“They’ve been watching him and keeping an eye on his situation, but I don’t think PSG are going to entertain selling him this summer.

“After winning the Champions League, they’re only aiming to improve, and he’s a big part of their plans.

“He’s a huge asset for them, he’s young, French, talented, and the type of player they’re looking to build their team around at PSG.

“So as much as Arsenal may want him, I don’t think it’ll happen.”

Eberechi Eze update emerges at the Emirates

Alongside their ambitions of signing Barcola, the Gunners are also eyeing Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze as a possible option to bolster their attack.

Football Insider revealed on 30 June that Arsenal are weighing up a move for Eze after they enquired about the availability of the England international.

The 27-year-old is eager to play at the highest level, and the North London side can offer him Champions League football next season.

This comes after Brown told Football Insider Arsenal “would love” to sign Eze are are plotting a big-money move for the FA Cup winning-goal scorer.
