Former NBA All-Rookie team guard signs with Unicaja

Chris Duarte will continue his career in Europe with Unicaja Malaga after four seasons in the NBA. He earned NBA All-Rookie second team honors in 2022 following an impressive debut campaign with the Indiana Pacers.

The 28-year-old Dominican guard appeared in 177 NBA games (62 starts) between 2021 and 2025, playing for the Indiana Pacers, Sacramento Kings, and most recently the Chicago Bulls.

Duarte averaged 7.6 points, 2.6 rebounds, and 1.3 assists across his NBA career, with his best season coming as a rookie in Indiana, when he posted 13.1 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 2.1 assists per game — a performance that earned him NBA All-Rookie Second Team honors.

In 2024–25, Duarte had limited minutes with the Bulls, averaging 2.1 points and 1.2 rebounds in just 4 minutes per game over 17 appearances.

He also logged two standout G League performances with the Windy City Bulls, averaging 25.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, 5.5 assists, and 3.5 steals.

Following his NBA stint, Duarte joined the Puerto Rican league, where he closed out the 2024-25 season averaging 19.5 points, 4.9 rebounds, 4.8 assists, and 1.6 steals.

Unicaja is coming off a standout season, having won the Champions League title for the second consecutive year, along with the Intercontinental Cup, Copa del Rey, and Supercopa, while also reaching the ACB semifinals.
