£17m Leicester City player now wanted by Nottingham Forest - Fabrizio Romano

Nottingham Forest are expected to be very busy in the transfer market this month.

The new financial year has started, so there is much more leeway for Nottingham Forest to spend without PSR restrictions.

Nuno Espirito Santo is exploring a deal to sign Malick Fofana from Lyon, which would be considered a real coup.

Fofana is widely regarded as one of the best young wingers on the continent and is wanted by the likes of Chelsea and Bayern Munich.

Now, there is a fresh transfer rumour emerging, and this time it’s regarding a Leicester City player.

Nottingham Forest interested in Leicester City defender Victor Kristiansen

Nottingham Forest are in the market for a left-back this summer, following the departures of Harry Toffolo and Alex Moreno.

Forest have looked at Liverpool’s Kostas Tsimikas, who has been made surplus to requirements by Arne Slot and is expected to leave.

Now, according to Fabrizio Romano, Espirito Santo is eyeing Leicester City’s Victor Kristiansen following their relegation from the Premier League to the Championship.

Kristiansen, who arrived in a £17m deal from Copenhagen in January 2023, is also reportedly of interest to Everton and Sunderland.

Kristiansen’s impressive underlying data

Kristiansen’s underlying data is actually really impressive.

According to FBref, the 22-year-old ranks in the top four per cent for tackles won per 90 compared to his positional peers across Europe.

He also sits in the top 10 per cent for interceptions, so evidently, he’s an aggressive defender who would fit the mould of a typical Espirito Santo full-back.

Kristiansen spent the 2023/24 season on loan at Bologna and established himself as one of the best left-backs in Serie A, helping them to a fifth-place finish.

So, the 18-cap Denmark international certainly has plenty of promise.
