Mosquera to Arsenal transfer latest as contract offer 'rejected'

Cristhian Mosquera is a target for Arsenal this summer

Arsenal Football Newsletter

The Gunners are on the market to bolster in defence and have already made a move to get a deal for the highly-rated Spain U21 international over the line amid apparent competition from RB Leipzig.

Despite seeing an opening offer for Mosquera rejected last week, Arsenal remain interested with reports claiming a second bid was being prepared.

It has been claimed that the north London outfit are hopeful of striking an agreement on a cut-price deal for the 21-year-old, potentially in the region of £17m because the defender has entered the final year of his contract at the Mestalla.

Those hopes appear to have been boosted with Mosquera reportedly rejecting a fresh contract offer from Valencia. In fact, as per the Mirror, the Spaniard has informed the LaLiga outfit that he has his heart set on joining Arsenal this summer.

Furthermore, the report claims Mosquera was initially keen on signing a new deal with Los Che. However, the Gunners’ interest has prompted a u-turn and he is understood to have already agreed personal terms with the north London club.
