The midfield is the only area of the squad that has not been addressed by Leeds United this summer. One attacker, and two defenders have arrived in the last few weeks
Lukas Nmecha arrives on a free and will add some quality and depth to the frontline. Jaka Bijol will come in and challenge for a starting spot, while Sebastiaan Bornauw is expected to be a direct replacement for Max Wober, who could be joining Wolfsburg soon.

The club had plans to bolster the midfield too, unfortunately, two of their main targets are headed elsewhere. Sunderland confirmed the signing of Strasbourg’s Habib Diarra, a player Leeds were in talks for. Noah Sadiki, another target for the Whites is also close to joining the Black Cats this summer.

Daniel Farke is also yet to address the number 10 position; the Leeds United boss has been keen on adding quality in that role since last year. He attempted to get some signings in last summer, but had to stick with Brenden Aaronson.
The American had a decent campaign as he contributed to 11 goals, but question marks over his overall ability remain. Reports indicated that Leeds’ main targets for attacking midfield will come down to Emi Buendia and Gus Hamer. No official bid has been made yet, but an approach could be made soon.
A huge development from the Netherlands has revealed that PSV are big fans of Hamer. SoccerNews.nl are reporting that the Blades midfielder could turn down a move to the Champions League club as he prefers a move to the Premier League. Hamer is very interested in a move to West Yorkshire this summer.
Leeds know what to do with Hamer
The player is open to join, and has been keen since an approach was made last year. He ticks a lot of boxes and actually wants to play under Daniel Farke. Hamer’s quality is undeniable – he has 15 goals and 16 assists in his last two league seasons. The 28-year also has experience in the Premier League. A deal is a no-brainer for Leeds United.
