Manchester City have been busy on many fronts throughout the summer transfer window so far.
After experiencing a tough 2024/25 campaign, the Manchester club were forced to look inwards heading into the summer, and have added four new stars to their squad as Pep Guardiola was keen to bring several new faces to the Etihad Stadium.
City have also been recruiting heavily for their youth teams over recent weeks after Academy Director, Thomas Krucken, stated in March that the development of the Manchester club’s youth set-up is “vital” for their future.
Man City have taken this stance into the summer transfer window and have now stolen another young talent away from one of their Premier League rivals.

Man City reach an agreement with Chelsea for Jeremiah Adesina
“Continuing Manchester City Academy’s development is vital, and the Academy Summit is now a key part of our strategy,” Krucken said about Man City’s academy via Manchester Evening News ahead of the summer transfer window.
Man City have made their intentions clear when it comes to recruiting for the academy in recent weeks, with Fabrizio Romano now reporting that the Manchester club are close to signing Jeremiah Adesina from Chelsea.

The transfer expert states that an agreement is in place for the youngster to move to the Etihad Stadium ahead of the 2025/26 campaign, which follows that the news this week that Man City are pursuing the signing of Salford’s 17-year-old striker Will Wright.

Adesina recently played right back at the KDB Cup for Chelsea; however, his preferred position is centre midfield, where he will hope to play and develop during his time at Man City.
The midfielder is one of several stars City have lured away from their Premier League rivals in recent weeks, as youth stars now seem very keen to be part of the Manchester club’s academy.
Man City’s academy continues to get stronger
The success of Man City’s academy is well-known in English football, and it seems that the Manchester club are keen to bring through another crop of top talent, which Adesina will now join.
In addition to the Chelsea youngster, the Manchester club are close to signing Freddie Lawrie from Aston Villa, while Dexter Oliver is also close to joining from Tottenham.
Manchester City will also add 15-year-old Kaylum Moss to their youth set-up from Liverpool, with Rosenborg’s Sverre Nypan the most high-profile youngster ready to move to Manchester ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.
