Former United Star Fears Arsenal Will Get The Perfect Start To 2025/26

With Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta dusting himself down after another second placed finish in the Premier League runners up spot in the 2024/25 campaign, we now continue our preparations for the season that lies ahead, and the 43 year old Spaniard is already moving quickly to bolster his squad with the hopes of finally getting over the line and returning what we all want for 2025/26 – the Premier League title itself.

With more than a month to go before the big top flight kick offs in August, those fans who like a flutter on the transfer market, or begin to make early predictions on league finishes, title winners and relegation candidates, will already be pouring over the odds on early outright markets from trusted football betting platforms to give themselves the best chance possible of success, and Arsenal are guaranteed to feature highly again for top spot given our progress and consistency in the last few seasons.

With the release of the fixture calendars the other week, travelling Gunners fans will already be making their plans to journey up to Old Trafford for our opening kick off against Manchester United on August 17, and it could be a tantalising tie for a number of reasons.

For Arteta, he will be determined to get the year off to a good start with a solid performance and all three points, but equally after the season that Ruben Amorim had at the club, with a disastrous 15th place finish, he will need a bright start to buy himself further time to turn the club around or his head will be on the chopping block and their managerial merry-go-round will begin again.

As things stand, we would undoubtedly go into that game as clear favourites for the win and Arsenal fans will be delighted to hear the early words for former Red Devil and England striker Teddy Sheringham, as he has revealed that he does not so much see us as favourites – he feels that his former club could be on the end of an opening day hammering if they do not quickly get their acts together this summer.

Speaking to the media recently, the 51 capped, 59 year old former 1999 Treble winner explained that he currently felt that the size of an embarrassing and humiliating defeat could easily be in the region of 4-0.

“It really is a horrible game for them to start the season. If the result is bad, if the scoreline is bad, things can escalate very quickly over there. You can imagine Arsenal coming up there with all the confidence, all the intent right now. They’ve got the momentum, a good squad. United are still figuring it out under Amorim.”

From our perspective, such a comprehensive victory on the opening day of the campaign against any side would be massive for our confidence levels, and although United have been poor for a number of years now, it would count for more and dominate the headlines purely based on their Premier League history.

It would be the perfect way to start and the vast majority of Arsenal fans will be relishing the opportunity to see Sheringham proved right and what Arteta can accomplish this season.
