Arsenal pursuit of striker Viktor Gyokeres has taken another turn, with Fabrizio Romano providing the latest update on the player’s transfer status. According to Romano, negotiations between Arsenal and Sporting CP are ongoing, but no agreement has been reached yet. The Gunners are still keen on signing Gyokeres, but the clubs have yet to finalise the deal.
The transfer fee is a major hurdle in the negotiations, with Sporting CP believed to be holding out for a significant amount. Romano stated, “Nothing done or agreed yet club to club. It’s absolutely ongoing in terms of interest and contacts but nothing agreed or close yet.” Gyokeres has been a top target for Arsenal, and the player himself is reportedly eager to join the Premier League.
Arsenal transfer activity is picking up pace, with the club looking to significantly reinforce its squad ahead of the new season. The Gunners have already made some significant signings, including Kepa Arrizabalaga, who joined the club from Chelsea for £5 million, becoming the club’s new number two goalkeeper.
Martin Zubimendi is also reportedly close to signing with Arsenal from Real Sociedad for £51 million. Zubimendi has reportedly arrived in London to finalise his move from Premier League side Brentford.

The Gunners are also interested in signing Benjamin Sesko from RB Leipzig, with the club reportedly willing to pay the player’s £70 million release clause.
Rodrygo, the Real Madrid forward, has emerged as another a top target for Arsenal, with the player capable of playing all across the front three. Cristhian Mosquera, Valencia’s highly-rated centre-back, is also on Arsenal’s radar, with the club reportedly ready to sign him.

The midfielder’s exit will likely free up space in the squad, allowing Arsenal to make further signings. Eberechi Eze, the Crystal Palace winger, is also reportedly in talks with the Gunners, with the player potentially likely joining the club this summer.
