Manchester United’s summer rebuild is beginning to take proper shape as pre-season draws near and Ruben Amorim prepares for his first full campaign at the helm.
With Matheus Cunha already confirmed and talks ongoing for Bryan Mbeumo, United are expected to do more business before the start of the 2025/26 season — one which must be a major improvement after last term’s disaster.
Having finished 15th in the Premier League and missed out on Champions League football for the second consecutive year, the Red Devils know that every addition counts — and that includes those made with an eye on the future.

The club’s strategy under INEOS has also placed new focus on identifying top talents across the globe, with an emphasis on those who can grow into first-team stars — and one such player is now officially en route.
Paraguayan outfit Cerro Porteno have confirmed that their exciting 18-year-old defender Diego Leon is leaving the club to join Manchester United.
In a post on Instagram, the South American club wrote (translated): “We wish the greatest success to the player Diego Leon, Canterano del Cyclon, who will continue his career as a professional footballer in England and will bring all the Paraguayan talent to the prestigious Premier League.
“Let’s go all in, Diego.”
A second post shared images of his journey through the club’s academy, captioned with an emotional goodbye: “From training with his father to earning a move to the Theatre of Dreams.”

Leon has already been pictured departing for Manchester, where he is expected to undergo pre-season testing.
While some may wonder if a loan move is next, the teenager has no intention of fading into the background.
Speaking before his departure, Leon made his intentions clear, promising to make an impression:
Speaking about his move, to Paraguayan reported Matias Cuevas, Leon commented: “Everyone thinks I’ll go out on loan, but I don’t have that mindset.
“I’m going to kill it in the preseason and within one or two games, I’ll already be playing with them.”
Unlike fellow young recruit Sekou Kone, Leon arrives with meaningful first-team experience under his belt, having played senior football in Paraguay’s top flight.
While United fans may not see him feature in the Premier League immediately, the early signs suggest he won’t be a forgotten name either.
With the right guidance, the raw talent, and the mentality to match, Leon is exactly the type of bold, high-upside investment INEOS is aiming to build the next great Manchester United team around.
