Preston North End are set to sign Odeluga Offiah from Brighton & Hove Albion on a permanent basis, according to Richard Cawley.
Preston North End are looking to enjoy a much-improved 2025/26 campaign after toying with relegation last time around. PNE made it to the FA Cup quarter-finals, but that was about all they had to celebrate last season.
Paul Heckingbottom will be eager to lift the Lilywhites far up the Championship table but he needs to make this squad his own, so the ongoing summer transfer window is an important one.

PNE have already made five additions, and it seems a sixth is inbound at Deepdale.
Writing on X, reporter Richard Cawley says that defender Odel Offiah is set to sign for Preston North End from Premier League side Brighton and Hove Albion.
South London-based reporter Cawley notes that newly-promoted Charlton Athletic also had eyes on the 22-year-old, but PNE look to have won the race and will land Offiah on a permanent basis, rather than a loan.
The defender had entered the last year of his contract with Brighton after a season on loan with League One side Blackpool and now looks poised to move to Lancashire for good.
Offiah’s fruitful spell with Blackpool
Preston North End-bound Offiah had tasted senior football before his Blackpool loan, but 10 appearances for parent club Brighton and a disrupted Hearts loan meant the 2024/25 season was his first of consistent starting XI football.

Operating as a centre-back or right-back, Offiah played 42 times for Lancashire rivals Blackpool, chipping in with one goal and one assist along the way.

He was a solid performer for Steve Bruce’s side in League One and as a promising player with a small amount of Premier League experience to his name, PNE will be hoping Offiah can be an asset for them in the Championship.
More Preston North End business awaits
Preston North End needed a quick start to their summer recruitment drive and with five signings to date, they have done just that.

Daniel Jebbison has come in on loan from AFC Bournemouth while all of Daniel Iversen, Jordan Thompson, Thierry Small and Pol Valentin have come in on free transfers.
In a bid to push back away from the Championship relegation picture though, PNE must kick on. The impending move for Offiah indicates they are more than aware of this, and acting on it as the summer rumbles on.
