Newcastle United pay tribute to Liverpool star Diogo Jota after tragic passing following car…

**The football world was stunned this morning when news broke that Liverpool forward Diogo Jota, along with his brother, had both died following a car accident in Spain.**

It's times like these when football rivalries no longer matter, and we at NUFC Feed send our thoughts to everyone connected to Jota and Liverpool FC at this awful time.

Newcastle United have paid their respects on social media this morning following the tragic event.

So too have several people connected with the club, including the likes of Alan Shearer and Sandro Tonali.

In a post on X, the club reposted the announcement by Liverpool while adding their own message of condolences.

Alan Shearer and Sandro Tonali have reacted to the news

Newcastle hero Alan Shearer led the tributes, simply posting 'Heartbreaking' with a broken heart emoji, while Sandro Tonali reposted an image of Diogo Jota with a prayer emoji on his Instagram.

The 28-year-old only recently married his long-time partner, with whom he has three children, which somehow makes the whole thing even more tragic and devastating.

Rest in Peace, Jota. You'll never walk alone!
