Town pay tribute to Liverpool star killed in tragic car accident

The attacker joined the Reds from Wolves back in 2020, helping them win the Premier League, the FA Cup and the Carabao Cup.

Jota and his 25-year-old brother, Andre, were both killed after their car suffered a tire blowout, causing it to veer off the road. Tributes have since poured in, with Liverpool 'devastated' as they confirmed the news of his passing this morning.

In a post on X, Ipswich said: "Everyone at Ipswich Town is deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Diogo and his brother André.

Our thoughts are with their families, friends, colleagues at Liverpool FC and Portugal, and all who love them.

"Rest in peace."
