While Manchester United endured a disastrous 2024/25 season, they still have the second-highest wage bill in the Premier League.
The total wage bill at United from last season was estimated to be in the region of £3.34million-per-week, which equates to £173.8million-per-year.
As part-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe continues his overhaul of all aspects of the club, he and the sporting impresarios of his INEOS group will be looking over the list of the biggest earners and wondering how to reduce the cost of the squad.
Here are the top 10 highest-paid Man Utd players, with their wages per week and per year revealed.
10. Noussair Mazraoui
Weekly wage: £135,000 (€156,033/$183,381)
Yearly wage: £7.02million (€8.11million/$9.53million)
Contract until: June 30, 2028
Mazraoui joined United from Bayern Munich last summer and put pen to paper on a four-year contract worth £135,000-per-week.
The Morocco international has impressed with his consistency and versatility, playing at right-back, left-back, centre-back and wing-back.
“He’s a top player,” Ruben Amorim said. “He understands the game. He knows how to attack, he’s very technical, he’s very good defensively and he’s very good one-on-one. He’s a modern player. I think he’s the future of our team.
“When you think about him, you think we need more players like Nous that can control the tempo, they are really, really good and comfortable with the ball. So, Nous, I’m really happy with him.”
9. Luke Shaw
Weekly wage: £150,000 (€173,394/$203,999)
Yearly wage: £7.8million (€9.01million/$10.6million)
Contract until: June 30, 2027
The longest-serving player at Old Trafford, Shaw joined United from Southampton in the summer of 2014 and is about to embark on his 12th season with the club.
He has a base salary of £150,000-per-week and can also earn an additional £50,000-per-week in performance-related bonuses.
When fit and firing, the left-back easily justifies his salary but his United career has often been plagued by a string of injury problems.
8. Harry Maguire
Weekly wage: £190,000 (€219,674/$258,399)
Yearly wage: £9.88million (€11.4million/$13.4million)
Contract until: June 30, 2026
Maguire left Leicester City in the summer of 2019 to complete an £80million move to United, who more than doubled his £90,000-per-week salary.
The centre-back initially looked like a solid addition to the United backline before suffering a drastic loss of form in the 2021/22 season.
But he has enjoyed a renaissance in the centre of Amorim’s three-man backline and United triggered a one-year extension in his £190,000-per-week contract, keeping him at Old Trafford until 2026.
“I feel that he has become a leader again,” Amorim said. “He feels like a more important player in the team. He has a lot of self-belief and is doing great.”

7. Matthijs de Ligt
Weekly wage: £195,000 (€225,470/$265,185)
Yearly wage: £10.14million (€11.7million/$13.7million)
Contract until: June 30, 2029
Alongside Mazraoui, De Ligt also spent two seasons at Bayern Munich before moving to United in the summer of 2024.
The Netherlands international actually took a pay cut in order to secure the move, going from £261,000-per-week at the Allianz Arena to £195,000-per-week at Old Trafford.
But he is still the fifth-highest paid centre-back in the Premier League after Virgil van Dijk, John Stones, Josko Gvardiol and Wesley Fofana.
6. Matheus Cunha
Weekly wage: £200,000 (€231,236/$271,975)
Yearly wage: £10.4million (€12.02million/$14.1million)
Contract until: June 30, 2030
Cunha established himself as one of the best forwards in the Premier League after registering 15 goals and six assists in 33 appearances for Wolves in 2024/25.
United secured his signature by triggering the £62.5million release clause in his contract, making him the ninth most expensive signing in the club’s history.
The Brazil international will reportedly earn around £200,000-per-week at Old Trafford – an increase of around £80,000-per-week from his Wolves deal.
5= Jadon Sancho
Weekly wage: £250,000 (€288,905/$339,956)
Yearly wage: £13million (€15.02million/$17.6million)
Contract until: June 30, 2026
United forked out £73million to sign Sancho from Borussia Dortmund in the summer of 2021 and also gave him a five-year contract worth £250,000-per-week.
The England international has failed to justify that huge outlay, registering just 12 goals and six assists in 83 appearances for the club.
He returned to Dortmund for the second half of the 2023/24 season before joining Chelsea on a season-long loan deal, which included an obligation to buy for £20million.
But the 25-year-old is now back at Old Trafford after being unable to agree personal terms to extend his stay at Stamford Bridge.
5= Mason Mount
Weekly wage: £250,000 (€288,905/$339,956)
Yearly wage: £13million (€15.02million/$17.6million)
Contract until: June 30, 2028
Mount joined United from Chelsea in the summer of 2023 and is now being paid a base salary of £250,000-per-week, while bonuses could push that figure up to £300,000-per-week.
But he has struggled to make a major impact at United, with injuries limiting him to just 13 Premier League starts in the last two seasons.
Amorim still believes that the midfielder has what it takes to turn around his career at Old Trafford and become an important member of his squad.
“I really love Mason Mount. I see him and know how he suffered,” Amorim said. “I know how he does everything right – he eats right, his physical aspect is perfect.
“He’s trying too much. Maybe he is thinking too much about everything. He was a European champion, he is a talent. When a player does everything like he does, he will always have the support of everybody here at the club.”
3= Bruno Fernandes
Weekly wage: £300,000 (€349,309/$411,243)
Yearly wage: £15.6million (€18.1million/$21.3million)
Contract until: June 30, 2027
Since joining United from Sporting CP in January 2020, Fernandes has established himself as one of the best players in the Premier League.
The Portugal international is also one of the highest-paid players in the English top-flight with a base salary of £300,000-per-week.
His contract also includes a number of performance-related bonuses, which can add another £75,ooo to his weekly pay packet.
The midfielder had the opportunity to more than double his salary after being approached by Saudi Pro League side Al Hilal, but he ultimately rejected their offer.

3= Marcus Rashford
Weekly wage: £300,000 (€349,309/$411,243)
**Yearly wage:**£15.6million (€18.1million/$21.3million)
Contract until: June 30, 2028
After netting 30 goals for United in 2022/23, Rashford signed a new contract with a base salary of £300,000-per-week and another £75,000-per-week in bonuses.
But the England international suffered an immediate drop-off in form, scoring just eight goals in all competitions in the following season.
He fell out of favour under Amorim and spent the second half of the 2024/25 season on loan at Aston Villa, who agreed to cover 75% of his salary.
The 27-year-old is now looking to secure a move to Barcelona, although the LaLiga side may not be able to afford his high wages.
1. Casemiro
Weekly wage: £350,000 (€407,522/$479,662)
Yearly wage: £18.2million (€21.1million/$24.9million)
Contract until: June 30, 2026
Having failing to sign Frenkie de Jong in 2022, United spent an initial £60million and another £10million in add-ons to sign Casemiro from Real Madrid.
They also shelled out a significant pay packet, giving him a four-year deal worth an initial £350,000-per-week and another £100,000-per-week in potential bonuses.
The Brazil international enjoyed a brilliant debut season in 2022/23 and scored in the Carabao Cup final, but he has since endured mixed fortunes at Old Trafford.
United are reportedly willing to sell him in the summer, but TEAMtalk understands that the 33-year-old is unwilling to take a pay cut.
