Club planning talks with Brentford for midfielder – Bees set their stall out early

Napoli are interested in a move for Brentford midfielder Yegor Yarmolyuk, with talks planned to work out a potential deal.

That’s according to Tuttomercatoweb, who report that Napoli have shown an interest in the midfielder in the last few days.

According to their information, Brentford have put a €20m asking price on the 21-year-old, a figure that Napoli would not consider trivial.

The Bees are secure at this moment in time as Yarmolyuk renewed his contract with the club just over a month ago, extending to June 2031. That includes the option of another year. Thus, they have no need to sell any time soon.

Napoli, though, are interested as they look to strengthen Antonio Conte’s squad this summer for a Serie A title defence.

They’re planning new contacts with Brighton in the coming days to understand the feasibility of the potential operation. Whether they’d be willing to pay anything near what Brentford are demanding remains to be seen.

It’s a situation to keep an eye on for the time being, with him on the Italian’s list this summer and talks expected to soon to explore a deal.
