‘Your turn’: Neco Williams hints at who’s in line ‘next’ for a new deal at Nottingham Forest

Neco Williams has put pen to paper on a new Nottingham Forest deal that will see him remain with the club until 2029.

Williams checked in from Liverpool in the summer of 2022 shortly after the Reds won promotion for a fee of £18 million.

The full-back has been a work in progress at the City Ground, but last season he stamped his authority on the team, playing the second half of the campaign at left-back and excelling.

Williams has become a fan favourite at Forest over the last 12 months, and it’s proved a popular move to tie him to a new contract.

Neco Williams hints who is next for a Nottingham Forest contract

There will be a few players that Forest would love to get tied down to a new contract after Williams.

Ola Aina is in line for a Forest deal, but there are attacking players who could find themselves the subject of cheap bids in the next few transfer windows.

Callum Hudson-Odoi is one of those players, with his contract actually due to expire next summer when he would be able to leave the club for free.

Williams has hinted that he might be next and posted on Instagram to the winger: “Your turn now.”

Hudson-Odoi cost Forest £3 million and in 70 appearances, he’s scored 13 goals and registered six assists for the Reds.

Forest need to get Hudson-Odoi tied to a new contract

Napoli were linked with Hudson-Odoi earlier this summer and he would be able to discuss a pre-contract agreement with them as early as January.

As a result, Forest have to get busy and get the pen out for Hudson-Odoi to sign on the dotted line before anyone poaches him from the clutches of the club.

At 24, Hudson-Odoi still has a lot of potential, and he proved last season that he’s a big part of how Nuno Espirito Santo likes his team to play.

Hopefully, Agent Williams has done his job here, and the next player to sign on the dotted line will be Hudson-Odoi.
