Former [Real Madrid](https://www.managingmadrid.com) player Fernando Morientes called Gonzalo Garcia a “perfect fit” for Real Madrid in a recent interview with COPE.
He was asked about Garcia’s emergence for the first team, and how important he has been so far, given that he is costing Real Madrid no money. He said: “If Real Madrid were thinking about Budimir, Vlahovic, etc, they would have to spend lots of money. I think Gonzalo Garcia is a perfect fit.”
Morientes was also asked about his opinion on Garcia in general, without the price tag, to which he said: “I loved Gonzalo Garcia’s performance. It is great news for Real Madrid.
“The youth players have to break down the door, and Gonzalo did it.”
Finally, Morientes talked about Garcia’s performances in reference to the entire Club World Cup competition, where he has scored three goals and provided one assist in four games.
He said: “Gonzalo Garcia is undoubtedly the big news of the Club World Cup.”
