Darwin Nunez has paid tribute to Liverpool team-mate Diogo Jota after he tragically died in a car crash in Spain.
The 28-year-old footballer and his brother, Andre Silva, lost their lives in a devastating accident while travelling through Sanabria in the Zamora region. Police have said the car they were travelling in – a Lamborghini – left the road due to a tyre blowout while overtaking another vehicle. Their car then caught fire.
As the football community mourned the loss of the Portuguese player, Nunez joined in paying respect to his team-mate.
On Instagram, Nunez shared two images, one showing Jota coming on as a substitute for him during a match, and another during a training session. He captioned the post with heartfelt words: "There are no words of comfort for so much pain.
"I will always remember you with your smile, as a good companion on and off the field.

“I send all my strength to his family, from where he is I'm sure he will always be with you, especially his wife and three children. Q.E.P.D Diogo y Andre”.
Q.E.P.D. stands for "Que en paz descanse" in Spanish, which translates to "May he/she rest in peace" in English.
Jota and Nunez shared the pitch for Liverpool 51 times, and were both named in the same matchday squad on 95 occasions.
The duo combined for four goals, with Nunez assisting Jota's goals against Fulham and Accrington Stanley last season as the pair helped fire Liverpool to the Premier League title.
