WHAT HAPPENED?

At the age of 28, Portugal international Jota passed away on July 3, 2025. He was involved in a car accident when travelling with his brother Andre Silva through the Zamora province of western Spain.

The pair were heading to a ferry port in Santander for an overnight journey to the UK, with Jota due back in training with Premier League champions Liverpool on Monday. Their lives were lost following a tyre blowout that led to a fatal crash.
