Tributes have poured in for Jota, as players, fans and pundits remember the man as well as the footballer.

And with little other avenue to show their support, shocked Liverpool fans have gathered at Anfield to provide their own condolences for Jota and his family.

Liverpool fans are unfortunately no strangers to tragedy, and the club will have to come together once again to overcome another moment of despair.

Jota will forever be remembered at Liverpool

As Liverpool fans are already showing, they will never forget their No. 20 at Anfield.

The news on Thursday stunned the whole country, but it is on Merseyside where the cries of anguish will have been the loudest.

But it is also where the solidarity will remain the strongest. Liverpool fans have a special way of commemorating those no longer with us, and Jota’s memory will feel that with full force.

Devastatingly, Jota is the first player to pass away while contracted to the club. As a result, he is the only one true Red in history.

Liverpool fans will never forget that, and Thursday was just the beginning of what will be decades and decades of remembering the lad from Portugal.
