Rangers and Leeds now have an established link thanks to the 49ers.
Part of the US-based consortium that now holds a majority stake in the Ibrox club, fans are hopeful that this new era will spell success.
The 49ers oversaw Leeds United’s promotion to the Premier League last season, with the two clubs’ destinies now intertwined.
However, potential signings between the two sides may prove to be difficult given the recent development that has emerged.

Relationship ‘sour’ between Russell Martin and Daniel Farke
Russell Martin was finally appointed Rangers’ manager this summer after a long search.
MORE RANGERS STORIES
The former Southampton boss can come to Ibrox with a decent CV as fans now dream of winning the Scottish Premiership title once more.
However, Martin may not be willing to do deals with Leeds due to his history with Daniel Farke.
The Daily Mail (3 July) has revealed that the pair have a history that dates back to when they were at Norwich City.
With Farke as the manager, the German unceremoniously brought down the curtain on Martin’s playing career at the Canaries, a club he had been at for eight-and-a-half seasons.
After becoming a legend at Norwich, things turned “sour” upon Farke’s arrival, with the German ending his dream of finishing his playing career at the club.

Appearances 309
Goals 17
Assists 12
Honours League One x1, Championship playoffs x1, Championship runners-up x1
Martin helped Norwich win three promotions during his time at the club
With it being clear that the Rangers manager still bears a grudge against his former boss, the 49ers must do what they can to sweeten their relationship.
The link between Leeds and Rangers could prove to be the difference maker if the Gers are going to topple Celtic’s dominance.
Therefore, the 49ers must calm this bubbling tension as it is no doubt in the club’s best interests.
If not, it will be a massive opportunity for Rangers wasted until one of the two bosses leaves their team.

Martin will surely overcome Farke grudge to make Leeds signings
As much as Martin dislikes Farke, surely, he will overcome this if a good player becomes available from Leeds.
It would seem idiotic if the Scotsman ignores a potential deal that could benefit him and Rangers due to his distaste of his old boss.
If so, then maybe Martin isn’t the right man for the job as he would be putting his own interests above Rangers’.
Hopefully, this will be quickly resolved if a Leeds player does become available who could make a difference.
