Newcastle United are again evaluating AC Milan defender Malick Thiaw, who is being linked with a move away from the Italian side.
Thiaw made 31 appearances in all competitions for AC Milan last season, but the 23-year-old’s involvement dropped towards the end of the season.
Still, it was an improvement on the 23/24 season, in which Thiaw picked up a hamstring injury, keeping him out of action for two months.

Newcastle are keeping an eye on Thiaw as they are looking for a central defender for next season, but they’re certainly not rushing forward for a transfer at this stage.
Moretto is quoted as saying: _“Last year Newcastle were looking for Thiaw and today Newcastle are still looking for a central defender. So keep an eye on this path, at the moment there is nothing concrete, but I can confirm that Newcastle are also evaluating Thiaw, who, in addition to returning to Germany, would be interested in an experience in the Premier League.”_
Thiaw’s agency Unique Sports Group also represents Newcastle United players Anthony Gordon and Lewis Miley, so there’s a relationship already in place with the Magpies.
The defender’s contract expires in June 2027.
